June End Summation…Patience…Common Sense…Compassion…

Here we are…at another month’s end…Where are we going? What have we learned?

We’re going to Hell in a hand basket…and we’ve learned that the Coronavirus is in an upward surge again…social distancing and wearing masks just isn’t getting its message across to many…and the “young and invincible” are being hit the hardest in Covid-19’s rising new cases…

We’re going nowhere…and we’ve learned…Nothing. Due to the absence of Patience…Common Sense…and Compassion.

If people had patience, states would have remained in shutdown status until the end of August, early September…Yes, the economy and businesses would surely suffer…but lives would have been saved…testing strategies and trends would have had a better chance to reveal patterns of spread, and get more individual testing incorporated around the country to better identify asymptomatic individuals, as well as locate those who are positive.   We can always rebuild an economy and businesses…but we cannot revive those lives that are currently being lost, due to the lack of Patience…Common Sense…and Compassion.

Those who are practicing social distancing…wearing masks…staying at home…practicing patience…common sense and compassion, you are to be commended and given kudos, for thinking about others and yourselves during this critical time of life-changing consequence for all…

Heartfelt thanks to all of the healthcare professionals and others who are dedicated to attending and saving the lives of those taken down by this virus…Angels in the outfield…

Texas, Arizona and Florida are three of the states surging in new cases…and all three are led by Republican governors…urged by “someone’s” battle cry, to reopen the economy…Hmmm…who could that someone be? Well, his white-haired partner in crime is now wearing a mask…Hmmm…Maybe he’s figured something out…you think?! Come November…A Change is Gonna Come…

July is upon us…so is Independence Day…July 4th.  This is not a time to forget what is happening around us in rapid succession…Be smart…be cautionary…continue to care for one another and speak up when others are not… What is happening with this virus is not going to just disappear anytime soon…

In summation of June, we must learn to have eyes to see…and ears to hear…Human survival relies upon human patience…common sense…and compassion.  Don’t close your eyes and ears to what is going on around you…You, are a very important part of this equation…no one is immune…no one is invincible…do your part…

Continue protesting…Black Lives DO Matter! Practice social distancing and wear your masks, properly…for your sake…and the lives of those around you.  You are important to champion injustice…champion social distancing and use all protective measures during this pandemic…This is the “new normal” until a vaccine is developed…there is just no way around it! And yes, it is still a Pandemic.  The short reprieve…is over.

July awaits sense and sensibility…

In summation…Practice…

And what do we practice?

Patience…Common Sense…and Compassion…

Use PPE…and PCSC…

We hold each other’s lives…in our hands…

Be vigilant….

Unconditionally…

Can we find “unconditional” in a conditional world? Conditional “reality” is the creation of human consciousness. Conditions are the building blocks of movement in our lives…and as a consequence, in our world.  Can we grow in understanding and acceptance to move from conditional enough to experience life…without conditions?

Are we willing enough to be willing, and participate? To touch and be touched? To feel everything in surrender? Can we open our arms to life…and let our hearts be touched…without conditions?

Think about it…

I’ll give you gas money…if you drive me to work…

Come over…I’ll make dinner…if you buy the food…

I’ll do your Science homework…if you pay my way to the Sci-Fi Comic Con, next month!

I’ll babysit, if you buy me that new pair of shoes I saw the other day…

If you cover for me in the meeting tomorrow, I’ll spring for lunch!

We can take that vacation we always wanted…if you take on another job for the summer!

Conditions…conditions…Can we do anything without “padding” the outcome?

We have been “conditioned” since birth!

“If you eat your vegetables…you can have ice cream for dessert!”

We talk about love…and loving unconditionally… Love has the biggest conditional price tag of all… Look around…Black Lives would matter, if love were unconditional…Women would be recognized on an equal scale to men, for their achievements and contributions…if conditions did not prevail…Conditions believe that women cannot manage a household…be intelligent… be feminine…and hold down a job outside of the home!

Conditions affect anyone and everyone who is perceived as “different than the norm,” from the physically challenged…to the elderly…and everyone in between…

Miracles come to open hearts and minds that have surrendered the need to control…and the need to know…The mind that can divest itself of conditions…is “present” and free from one of the greatest chains of bondage on the human heart…and has mastered one of the greatest lessons of humankind, on the path to Love…

The beginning to unlearning the conditional training, is to come out of hiding…stop being “lost”… and be True To Yourself.  No one likes conditions…Be true in your heart and your mind…”Do unto others…as you would have others do unto you.” Without conditions…

Learn to Love…Without Conditions…

Learn to Give…Without Conditions…

Learn to Receive…Without Conditions…

Learn to Listen…Without Conditions…

Learn to be Compassionate…Without Conditions…

Learn to be of Service to others…Without Conditions…

Without Conditions…

Make a list of your most outrageous conditions…read it for the absurdity…wince…laugh…cry…shake your head in disbelief…Did you really say that!? Did you really demand that?! Did you really have that expectation on making that condition?!

Yes…You did…

How much did you change? How much did you grow? How much do you regret?

Frame it as a reminder…toss it in the trash…or burn it in eulogy…

Tomorrow is another day…

Take the first step…

Lose the conditionality…

Unconditionally…

And grow your heart…

Unconditionally….

Purity of Heart…

“Blessed are the pure in heart…for they shall see GOD.”

Once in a great while…someone comes unto your path…and they show you things about life and you…that you were never conscious of…because you thought you were on the right path…and you were honed in on your self-realization…better than average…so you thought… The Teacher can always be the Student…and the Student…can always be a Teacher…that is the first commandment of spiritual evolution…discount nothing…and always walk with an open heart…

Purity of Heart would not ever condemn or lay blame

Purity of Heart would understand and love more

To unlock, open and pass through…a closed door

Purity of Heart would not shame or seek to tame…

Nor game…or defame

Purity of Heart knows only Love…

Given divinely from above

Purity of Heart is a blessing…to all.

Especially when love is given in comfort…

After a betrayal…or fall…

Purity of Heart does not keep score

Or tally mistakes…

Purity of Heart is always constant and never forsakes

Truth…Trust…Honesty…and Honor…

Are always tested…

Purity of Heart passes no judgments—

It knows your heart…and is completely invested…

Purity of Heart…is a rarity among humans, you see…

It is a state that few achieve in a lifetime…realistically.

We are flawed, broken…and in need of repair…

A fate we all share…

Purity of Heart is patient…and doesn’t dwell

On what’s not there…

It gives love…which manifests whatever is needed…

With care…

Purity of Heart is Humankind’s Savior…and Grace

Those who have received…are humbled profoundly…

To have gazed upon his…or her face….

To recognize this phenomenon, is even greater still…because there are those who walk among us…like ancient relics from the past…when virtues…values, principles and the bond of your word was accepted and honored in agreements of any kind…and that is how they live their lives…with purity of heart…

For some…it is easier than others…but guess what? We can all achieve this blessing…if we become the student…instead of the teacher…

Isn’t purity of heart worth the transition?

Take a seat…in the classroom of Life…

It’s never too late to learn…

And pay attention to those who come to you with a pure heart…

The face who is delivering the lesson…is a Messenger of God.

Take the extended branch of Enlightenment….

Thank you, Eric…for showing me such purity….

Celebrate Your Innocence…

Simplicity…the lack of knowledge…purity…Remember when?  We can always choose to take it back…the sanctity of the finer side of being a child is still locked somewhere within each and every one of us…

One way to find the way back to love, is to summons that part of us when innocence was our way of discovery along the path of life…

Therefore, everyday…celebrate, and call forth your innocence…with the heart of a child…

Yesterday, the sky grew dark, and before I knew it, the rain came pouring down.  I went downstairs to the door, took off my shoes, and went outside into the pouring rain! I stood in the front yard, as my neighbors sat on their porch, safely enjoying the downpour, and suddenly, I just started to whirl like a dervish as the rain soaked through my clothes!  It was so wonderful! People passing in cars, waved and smiled…another neighbor and his daughter started walking in the rain, and I stopped my dancing to just stand…with my face looking up into the falling rain…enjoying this manna from heaven, which also cooled down the humidity in the air.  I took my bare feet to the water in the street, stepped into the puddles and kicked up my heels, splashing and enjoying the freedom and cleansing this summer rain had gifted…

Then…it was over.  The rain had stopped, and the sun found its way out again…I went back indoors, still soaking from the rain…my pants, wet up to the knees from the puddle playing…I was still reeling with excitement of this simple pleasure!

Innocence is release…Innocence is the purity of your peace within…Let it go…and remember who you are…

We must remember to let life be sometimes…to step back and take a moment to be…ourselves.

Stop being the expectation of someone else…stop denying your innocence…your purity…your simplicity…Go fishing…take a walk…go on a pilgrimage…fly a kite…go skydiving…blow bubbles…go river rafting…go on a safari…climb the Himalayas…bird watch…go to the Grand Canyon…Dance!

Find your peace…celebrate and release…reconnect with your innocence…embrace the childlike simplicity…that you’ve locked away within…

Once you have refreshed and renewed your spirit…carry on with the tasks at hand…with simplicity…and purity…and a happy heart.

Remember when?

No need to remember…you can always “be”…anytime…anywhere…

Celebrate, and release…return to innocence…

Return… to you….

Father’s Day Revelations…

Today is a celebration of fathers everywhere… I celebrate my father…although he passed on in 1978…

Last night I read all of the letters and cards he had sent to me…and remembered him, as well as where I was in my growth and development at those times.  I missed my dad.  He was a good father…He and my mom separated when I was seven…but I still loved him…and he was still, my dad…

As I grew up, I came to realize certain dynamics of human nature…while love may last forever…relationships may not…casualties presented themselves everywhere…and no one was safe from the fallout…and if we sought answers, we could seek and find with the wisdom of our understanding…

Dad would come out to visit us five children, every summer…until my sister and I decided after attending an early summer concert, that we would try to hook up with our favorite group, and took a journey to their hotel, once we managed to get the information from one of their stage crew… We were offered a ride to the hotel by the guy who was transporting their instruments and staging to the airport…we accepted, and he dropped us off in front of the hotel and waited… of course, the front desk personnel denied that the group was staying there…so  the equipment guy took us as far as he was going after dropping off the equipment to LAX, which was Los Angeles, near our grandmother’s home, near USC…we were given a ride from there to our home in the San Fernando Valley, whereas night, had become early morning… foolish, naive, young girls…Angels, everywhere!

We made it into the house…thinking we could sneak into bed, and there in the living room stood my father, my mom, and my aunt…”Where have you been!!!” My mother shouted.  My dad just stood there silently.  After we explained our escapade, mom angrily explained the dangers our little adventure had exposed us to, and we were grounded, and forbidden to go to any more concerts that summer!  My dad finally spoke, saying he was not coming for any more summer visits…that his next visit would be when we graduated from high school, which was three years away!

Mom did consent to allowing me and my sister to attend our favorite group’s concert two months later, where we did meet them, and we asked them about the hotel, and they said they were there!!! Silly young girls…

After my 19th birthday, my letters became calls to my dad…we would talk on the phone every other weekend, and he was always happy and had a story to tell me about the concerts he had gone to, and what was going on around him with the relatives and such! We shared good laughs, and we shared the love…

My dad passed away at 50 years…He died in his sleep of a heart attack.

I think back on all the wonderful things my dad taught me…He taught me about diversity and friendship…through his diverse group of friends and their friendships… He taught me how to love baseball…he taught me how to appreciate and love music…Dad loved a variety of music, especially the R&B greats, and played the saxophone…he taught me how to enjoy good food, by being a great cook…which I inherited from him..(and my mom!)  He opened the door to my spiritual journey…which evolved from my Catholic beginnings to my spiritual path today…

Whatever your relationship may be with your dad…embrace it…honor it…appreciate it…because good, not so good, or indifferent, we are all the better for it…really, we are.

To all the dads who were taken…they are heroes, and they left behind legacies of their own, which will endure, and last a lifetime…

To those dads who are doing their best…you are commended…

To those dads who can do better…be better…someone is reading your book…

To “Step in” dads, and dads who have no biological children, and are dads to many… you are the salt of the earth…

And to those dads who are loving it to the last drop…you are golden!

Above all, dads everywhere…Today is your day to shine, and be appreciated…Thank you for your love…direction and support…and for always being there…

E.A., you’re the best dad ever! And I’ll love you…forever…Kisses N hugs….

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, to dads, everywhere… SJB, Jr., Uncle J.B.

Much Love….

Juneteenth…

via Juneteenth…

Juneteenth…

“Juneteenth” is described as  “a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States… Celebrated annually on the 19th of June throughout the United States.

The significance…Emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the Confederacy…

Juneteenth is also know as Freedom Day…Jubilee Day…Liberation Day…Emancipation Day…

Freedom means having the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance…

Jubilee is a special anniversary of an event, especially one celebrating twenty-five or fifty years of a reign or activity…

Liberation is the act of setting someone free from imprisonment, slavery, or oppression; release…

Emancipation is the fact or process of being set free from legal, social, or political restrictions; liberation…

Today, I’m thinking about the 1,653 Black people who died at the hands of police in America between 2014 and 2019, just to pull up the numbers…however, these killings including those by private citizens who are not of color…have been going on since Slavery began in America… 2020 has continued the horrific practice of taking Black lives…

Today, I’m thinking about Rayshard Brooks, 27…George Floyd, 46…Breonna Taylor, 26…Atatiana Jefferson, 28…Aura Rosser, 40…Stephon Clark, 22…Botham Jean, 26…Philando Castille, 32…Alton Sterling, 37…Michelle Cusseaux, 50…Freddie Gray, 25…Janisha Fonville, 20…Eric Garner, 43…Akai Gurley, 28…Gabriella, Nevarez, 22…Tamir Rice, 12…Michael Brown, Jr., 18…Tanisha Anderson, 37…Robert Fuller, 24…Malcolm Harsch, 38…Ahmaud Arbery, 25…Now Google and Wikipedia pages outlining the details of lives cut short for being Black…in America…

Juneteenth…Maybe someone forgot to tell those who took their lives…that they were free…that they were liberated…that they were emancipated…about three centuries ago…

Let us celebrate Juneteenth today…Praying…that one day, in the very, very near future…we can celebrate the true meaning of Juneteenth.

Passage…

There is a beautiful and powerful legacy of love given to humanity that we have not even began to scratch the surface thereof…

Our preference to exercise fear over understanding…holds our hearts back from the true and real experience and expression of Love…to one another, as well and foremost, to our fellow humans…

If we only have love…if we’d only believe in its power of transformation…George Floyd would still be with us, living his life today…along with those who shared his fate…instead, they fell victims to those who chose to forgo the gift of love and the immensity of its transformative power and reach…

There would be no distinctions made in our Diversity…Every life would be precious…and hold meaning to everyone…regardless of  likeness or similarities...with only the knowledge that all life is precious and sacred, and all life must be protected…nurtured…and loved.

We deny ourselves the gift of life, any and every time we deny anyone the right to the gift of their lives…in any shape, form or fashion…and ultimately, we negate the sacrifice made to ensure that we have the right to life on this planet…and when we make that transition to the next life…which is guaranteed everlasting… How we gain that gift, is the key to our understanding and surrender to love…Right here…Right NOW.  The Promise…the Sacrifice…came with the clear understanding of Passage…

The Passage is the ticket to Eternity… If we do not understand the road of Passage…there is no Eternity…

Love is The Passage and the key to Eternity…There is no other way.  Nothing can be bartered, negotiated or substituted… There is only one Way…

We must lay down our weapons of Fear…

We must stop hurting others…and ourselves, and hurling obstacles in our paths in our refusal to accept the knowledge of, and exercise the gift and transformational power of Love…

Hatred…Racism…Discrimination…Prejudice…Greed…Injustice…Lies…Deception…Inequality…Malice…Inhumanity…any evil present or practiced, will fall away forever…in the presence and practice of Love…

Love is the Power of Creation and the only energy that is Omnipotent…

Once this understanding is reached by all humankind…the Way of Passage…becomes the Way of Life…securing Eternity…forever.

Let us secure Tomorrow…Today.  Lay down your hearts to Love…

Surrender…Let the transformation begin and experience the unity of “One Heart…One Love.”

Remove the cloaks of Fear…and Surrender…

Passage…is LOVE….
