Eleven Days Into July…Once Again…Why?!

It’s becoming a tradition to begin each month with a mass shooting? Independence Day gave rise to people being picked off at an Independence Day parade…

The Nation of the Gun is showing it’s true colors…Red, White and Blue is giving way to streets red with blood…

Eleven days into July…once again…why?!

Until the real issues of this country are challenged with real solutions…with people honestly the priority…we will continue to have a ringside seat to this country’s demise.

Continue to buy into the lies of dissension that have been designed to keep the states divided…and wave goodbye to Democracy and any remnants of the American Dream…

Make no mistake about where this country is headed….

It is not progressing…

It is not great…greatness doesn’t destroy…it uplifts…it exemplifies…

What is taking place here, day in and day out, by those who took oaths to defend the Constitution…its citizens…and the country… It is third world…

The more things change…the more they remain the same…

The more power…the more the corruption…the more the abuse…

Good and evil are functioning at an accelerated level…and in full view.

The Republicans that are yelling the loudest and blocking the functioning of the government, if it doesn’t represent their viewpoint, are reversing freedoms, and have vowed to win the “War of the Confederates” by destroying progress and taking the states back to the pre-Civil War era…one way or another, they are determined to win…at any cost..and the cost is the fall of a nation…

They packed the courts with three conservative judges…who lied about overturning Roe v. Wade…taking women back to second-class citizens by reducing their privacy and rights to be in control over their own bodies…

Slavery has indoctrinated this country…emotionally…mentally…physically…and spiritually…. Government officials and corporations are the “Masters” and the citizens of America are the “Slaves.”

Everyone is vying for “Freedom.” And everyone…especially the “Masters,” are slaves to something…

Power? Wealth? Control? Debauchery? Evil?

So elusive is independence! Non-existent is “Freedom” in the truest meaning of the word…

Until human lives hold more value than the color of one’s skin..or the deepness of one’s pockets in material wealth and assets…this country…and sadly, the world…is on a fast track to “Hell.”

We must stop sugar-coating with illusion and delusion…and see the forest for the trees!

Blind rebellion is a Fool’s Reign.

Educate yourselves about the country you live in…

Travel the country and get a good look at what is really going on around you…

Witness…firsthand.

Scrutinize and investigate the sources you rely upon….and the politicians you elect…

Don’t be sheep led to slaughter by your own hand…

Understand your rights…before they become a thing of the past…

Think about the little 2-year-old toddler who lost his parents to gun violence on July 4th…which could have been avoided if this nations wasn’t so ruled by the gun…the passing and enforcement of the right gun laws through the House and the Senate would have saved his parents’ lives…instead he’s growing up an orphan…The energy of overturning Roe v. Wade would have been better utilized on the preservation of lives now on this planet!

Monthly mass shootings are not routine…however, they will be…if we choose to turn our backs…if we don’t stand up to political corruption…if you continue to believe that you can’t and don’t make a difference…if you continue to believe that change is beyond your reach…if you continue to believe that you are without positive purpose…

Eleven days into July…once again…Why?!

Why?

Because change and progress continue to knock on your door…

And many…refuse to answer….

June ended taking away an independence for women of their privacy and the freedom to choose and decide how their lives and health would be affected revolving around pregnancy with the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

June couldn’t have ended on a more devastating and backward act of stifling progress and the realization that life in America confirms that humans are not the most intelligent life in the universe… From the Hill to the population…

July brings in Independence Day…

How can Independence Day bring about celebration in a country that suppresses…oppresses…deprives its constituents of basic human rights…and destroys progress by sending women’s privacy and health back to the dark ages…while suppressing and changing voting rights that stack the deck against the practice and meaning of democracy?

What population cohesiveness will July bring forth?

The use of “cohesiveness” is with hope…

America has been flying divided for far too long…

Are we witnessing the fall of yet another country that has taken advantage of the sovereignty entrusted to it?

When will the American people exercise their independence and stand up to those who have shackled their freedoms with endless lies and manipulations–the majority of the GOP? Democrats are losing ground because they continue to believe that the Republicans will engage in bipartisan politics…someday…and they refuse to fight fire with fire…Huge mistake! All the while they are playing this docile game, the “united states” continues to drift into the great divide.

Meanwhile….The political slavery of Trump’s specter and his GOP constituents continues to haunt…dismantle…weaken, dissolve and cripple democracy which threatens to reduce America to hell on earth…and plummet hard won freedoms into oblivion…such as Roe v. Wade…and the right to vote, a cornerstone of American Democracy.

Our “Independence Day” will come when everyone truly understands the meaning of independence…and how it cannot be severed and conditional to human rights…by marginalizing freedom…free-will…and the right to be your own person…

The practice of these oppressive acts are quite contrary to Independence Day…

July…Independence?

Juneteenth…in June…

Independence Day…in July…

Both are one in the illusive pursuit of…Freedom…

What will July expose?

We will find out…

July is here…

This July 4th, 2021…Celebrate you…

Celebrate that after 2020…and the months leading up to this day, we made it…and many didn’t due to the pandemic…indiscriminate assaults and the taking of lives…The Florida condo collapse…tornadoes…hurricanes…floods…extreme heat…droughts…joblessness…homelessness…politics….

For those events that we can do nothing about…let us bond together and give assistance and kindness and comfort….

For the events that we can do something about…Remember that our Freedom…Life…Liberties…and our Pursuit of Happiness is contingent upon our Independence…

Independence comes about because of you and your contributions to America…and the continuance of the freedoms promised to every American…

Celebrate you…Celebrate Independence…Celebrate Freedom…and don’t abandon the struggle and the war we are waging here in America…even today…to celebrate another July 4th…come 2022…

Freedom and Independence aren’t just words to be thrown around…

So be vigilant in your quest to retain them…

June In…

Brought many realizations of what still plagues humanity and how we must continually work on bringing about change in the direction of History and our relationships to other human beings….

The Tulsa Massacre happened one hundred years ago, in 1921…and brought to light numerous other massacres of Black communities in the past…Chicago 1919…Springfield 1908…East St. Louis 1917…Vicksburg 1874…Slocum 1910…Colfax 1873…Opelousas 1868…Thibadaux 1887…Elaine 1919…Clinton 1875…Rosewood 1923…St. Bernard Parish 1868…New Orleans 1866…Memphis 1866…Atlanta 1906…Detroit 1943…New York 1863…Washington DC 1919…Philadelphia 1985…Wilmington 1898…Charleston 2015…Eufaula 1874…Camila 1868…Ocoee 1920…and the Fort Pillow Massacre on April 12, 1864 by Confederate troops.

Being a “silent witness” is as damaging as committing the crimes… Ask yourself this question…If you were the recipient of an atrocity being committed and someone stood by and watched…or knew the perpetrator(s) or witnessed the acts of the perpetrator(s), would it be alright with you if they did nothing with this knowledge that could hold those accountable for their horrific actions?

The Past cannot and will not stay buried when injustices are committed and lives are wiped out and the consequences of taking those lives affects the lives of their generational families for the rest of their lives…robbing many of generational wealth and land…in businesses destroyed and land taken in these massacres…“Reparations” can never measure up to what was lost…however, Restitution must be in order in any and every form in accountability and righting the wrongs that continue into these moments in time… These are stains on the soul of this nation that can never be erased…sins that can only be forgiven by heartfelt and demonstrated Acts of Contrition… Telling Americans of African heritage to “get over it” is like asking Americans of Jewish heritage to “get over the Holocaust.” How can you ask someone to “get over” massacres of their family and loved ones? How can one ask someone to erase these horrors and traumas from their minds and person? How can anyone live in denial of atrocities that treat specific human beings as if they were less than the dirt beneath their feet? Let us not forget that “soil” is dirt…and it yields the food that nourishes and keeps all life on this planet…alive.

June In…brought in a realization that Juneteenth was celebrated by Ikea by presenting a celebratory meal of Fried Chicken, Watermelon, Mac N Cheese, Potato Salad, Collard Greens and Candied Yams…all stereotypical, perceived foods eaten by African American people…Entertaining ignorance instead of researching authenticity and the history of the occasion and the vast cuisine which extends itself across the spectrum of African heritage existing, but not limited to, the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and other countries around the globe… These mindsets continue to limit and marginalize the true expansion and influence of African ancestry and its contributions to American life.

June In…brought in the very stark realization that as a people, we are still in chaos over old issues that will continue to plague our society and the world…if we continue to walk in ignorance…and not in truth. Our disappointments and sins will continue to grow and follow us from century to century if we do not confront them and face them with a heart bent on rectification and alleviation of that which creates the injustices and inequalities still present and functioning throughout our nation…as a perceived “life blood” of preservation…when it is the very poison that may well consume and destroy the dream of America…

June Out…brings another month to build and rebuild upon the dream of America…To consciously put in the work….become a viable part of the Reconstruction of a nation that holds more promise in demonstrated change than hope…more love than hate…and more union than disunion and division.

June Out… brings July and Independence Day…

Our Independence should begin with the removal of the shackles we allow to bind our spirits and our abilities to herald in changes that will grant freedom from self-imposed prisons of self creation when we choose not to challenge archaic mindsets and constituents which work to keep the chains tightening around our necks…instead of accepting the changes which will serve and uplift us into becoming “The Land of the Free.”

Freedom isn’t elusive…

Independence…is Freedom.

Here we are…at another month’s end…Where are we going? What have we learned?

We’re going to Hell in a hand basket…and we’ve learned that the Coronavirus is in an upward surge again…social distancing and wearing masks just isn’t getting its message across to many…and the “young and invincible” are being hit the hardest in Covid-19’s rising new cases…

We’re going nowhere…and we’ve learned…Nothing. Due to the absence of Patience…Common Sense…and Compassion.

If people had patience, states would have remained in shutdown status until the end of August, early September…Yes, the economy and businesses would surely suffer…but lives would have been saved…testing strategies and trends would have had a better chance to reveal patterns of spread, and get more individual testing incorporated around the country to better identify asymptomatic individuals, as well as locate those who are positive.   We can always rebuild an economy and businesses…but we cannot revive those lives that are currently being lost, due to the lack of Patience…Common Sense…and Compassion.

Those who are practicing social distancing…wearing masks…staying at home…practicing patience…common sense and compassion, you are to be commended and given kudos, for thinking about others and yourselves during this critical time of life-changing consequence for all…

Heartfelt thanks to all of the healthcare professionals and others who are dedicated to attending and saving the lives of those taken down by this virus…Angels in the outfield…

Texas, Arizona and Florida are three of the states surging in new cases…and all three are led by Republican governors…urged by “someone’s” battle cry, to reopen the economy…Hmmm…who could that someone be? Well, his white-haired partner in crime is now wearing a mask…Hmmm…Maybe he’s figured something out…you think?! Come November…A Change is Gonna Come…

July is upon us…so is Independence Day…July 4th.  This is not a time to forget what is happening around us in rapid succession…Be smart…be cautionary…continue to care for one another and speak up when others are not… What is happening with this virus is not going to just disappear anytime soon…

In summation of June, we must learn to have eyes to see…and ears to hear…Human survival relies upon human patience…common sense…and compassion.  Don’t close your eyes and ears to what is going on around you…You, are a very important part of this equation…no one is immune…no one is invincible…do your part…

Continue protesting…Black Lives DO Matter! Practice social distancing and wear your masks, properly…for your sake…and the lives of those around you.  You are important to champion injustice…champion social distancing and use all protective measures during this pandemic…This is the “new normal” until a vaccine is developed…there is just no way around it! And yes, it is still a Pandemic.  The short reprieve…is over.

July awaits sense and sensibility…

In summation…Practice…

And what do we practice?

Patience…Common Sense…and Compassion…

Use PPE…and PCSC…

We hold each other’s lives…in our hands…

Be vigilant….

Reflections On The Fourth of July…and America.

20170704_213018_resized20170704_205357_resizedAs I sat in the stadium on the 4th of July taking in the festivities and the grand array of diversity in people all around me, I marveled in bittersweet thoughts, at how we could be so immersed in celebrating our country’s independence with such joy and camaraderie…yet be so divided at other moments in

time by racism…hatred…bigotry…discrimination…politics…Yet, here we were, a beautiful cross sectional percentage of our country’s population…sitting in a city stadium…listening to band music…enjoying each other, the food offerings and other amusements, while waiting for darkness to fall, to pay homage to our country’s independence in a spectacular display of fireworks!

Then politics crept in…”Taxation without representation!” A resentment which gave rise to the American Revolution…

“This country with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it.  Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.”

“Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail.  Without it, nothing can succeed.” 

“Stand with anybody that stands right, stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong.”

These are all “food for thought” quotes from Abraham Lincoln… Quotes appropriate to “Independence Day.”  Which leads to another tidbit of thought…”Are we independent?”

The present party of Lincoln cannot and will not fully consider the message of the last quote above because their main objective is and always has been to have control and power at any cost…and right at this moment, they hold the most points toward singlehandedly running our country into the ground, in their blindness to hold onto power…and control.

The Democrats are no better… Corruption has diseased both camps and the ultimate outcome for America is doom, downfall and disintegration…Nations without virtue are condemned to die a horrific death.

Can we the people snap out of the “mesmer” long enough to disable this mechanism of American Genocide?! When will it be recognized that this nation can pull the plug on “Trumpocide?”

Much sooner than later, all of the countries of the world will turn their backs and walk away from a nation that was once a true force and source of strength, power and reckoning to those who threatened freedom and human rights…

Now we risk becoming the worst of adversaries by using education to school in the art of skillful deception and slight of tongue…to manipulate and fool the masses, as we implode from within, and sharpen our new image as the “king’s court of jesters” by parading an “Ambassador of Fools” around the globe as the leader of the “free world!”

Taxation without representation…we are and have been heavily taxed for so long…without representation.

“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the Courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”

Independence Day…Let’s all sit back and watch the fireworks.
