When evil doings are allowed to prevail over truth, assisted with the full cooperation of our governmental systems, not only has our systems failed, along with them exit sovereign integrity everywhere.
The exchanges made to uphold tangible objects over morality have damned humanity forever…
America was envisioned as a place free from persecution, oppression, prejudices of any kind, discrimination, religious restriction, and proclaimed a land of second chances for those who went askew of the laws in their native lands, and a land of opportunity with the fulfillment of dreams to all who sought a new life upon entering her shores…
Equality. Liberty. Freedom…at last. Not so…not so!
Lest we call near extermination and Reservation encampment of our Native American brothers and sisters, equality, liberty, and freedom…still denying their rights to their land by authorizing the encroaching pipelines, without a thought to their survival, health or welfare…
Equality…liberty…freedom…is that what we call the enslavement, gratuitous lynching, legalized genocide, continued denial of Civil and Human Rights to our Black American brothers and sisters, and their enslaved African Ancestors, brought here from their country, in chains?! We did not learn from the Holocaust of Nazi Germany?! Another has risen and been in continuous operation…because of “difference of appearance” among the status quo…
How do we account for the mistrust of Japanese Americans, who came to and settled in America to have their dreams of equality, liberty and freedom realized? Their loyalties were recognized by placing over 100,000 in internment camps…stripped of their dignity and the lives they built for themselves, here…due to Japan’s actions in WWII…The operative word completely overlooked…”Americans.” Japanese by heritage…yet, Americans!
Executive order 9066, signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 19, 1942, changed lives forever… Sixty-two percent of the internees were American citizens.
In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed into law the Civil Liberties Act, which apologized for the internment and authorized a $20,000 payment to every surviving internee… it was admitted that the government actions were based on “race prejudice, war hysteria and a failure of political leadership.”
This travesty began February 19, 1942…lasting until March 20, 1946…
February is Black History Month…
Emmett Till…Trayvon Martin…Michael Brown Jr. …Tamir Rice…Sandra Bland… and the endless stream of men, women and children who have become a part of Black History… because race prejudice is still alive and ongoing in the “land of the free.”
Does America deserve Trump?
“Number 45” has demonstrated an all too familiar pattern with his Republican constituents and cabinet picks who embody the tradition of “race prejudice, war hysteria and failure of political leadership.” Let’s also add “devoid of any political leadership or political leadership skills.”
It is one thing to change the political face of a governing party…what we are witnessing are the deep seeded roots of dysfunctionalism and destruction born out of hatred, insecurities, greed and a quest for power so intense, that the “Republican Regime” is willing to sink a nation and further induce chaos in a world that is on the brink of exploding…
We must rise above the pettiness…we must look at our past…we must remember…we must not be complicit and turn a blind eye to the “elephants” trampling our liberties and our freedom…we must defend our brothers and sisters under siege…Look in the mirror…they are us, and we are them…they are our family…they are our children…they are human beings…we are humanity first, and Americans, second.
Without our humanity…there are no Americans…without humanity, there are no Canadians…British…French…Italians…Danish…Egyptians….Irish…Africans…All continents would perish…
Somewhere…somehow, we have managed to have enough love to keep us here…somewhere…somehow…we must find enough love to save what makes us beautiful and worth saving to those who have already given their lives before us…who have left their dreams behind for us to maintain…and protect to longevity.
The greatness of America is in the diversity of her people… the richness of America is reflected in the collective contributions of her immigrant population and Native American infusion.
Does America deserve Trump and the Republican Regime?
Let us not sink into darkness by allowing the worst of us to convince us that we must take the road back to antiquity….
