We Dream the Dream…Let’s Make it Happen…For Everyone….

Today is the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday…

I want to reflect on an article I was sent back in 1999, when putting together a list of charities to benefit from a concert that was being prepared to move into the 21st Century…This was one of the charities…Oxfam America…

“Many believe blacks must participate in the structure of American capitalism in order to prosper as individuals and communities.  Ownership, the bedrock of American society and measure of success, makes citizens free to master their own destinies.  Ownership brings leverage in American economic life and, subsequently, social and political spheres.  Lack of ownership, many believe, has kept blacks and minorities in an inferior social position in which financial resources are squandered to maintain the success of already powerful whites.”

–Laura K. Warrell, Oxfam America Viewpoint, spring 1999, Cover Story, “Does Restitution for Black Farmers Equal Justice”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed and spoke upon equality for Black Americans economically, as a key factor in achieving racial equality, and spoke upon it in many of his speeches on the long road to establishing Civil Rights for Americans of African ancestry…decades before organizations like Oxfam took up the journey to solidify processes and progress in this still long, long road to racial equality…

Where are we in education…housing…jobs…equal pay…civil rights…freedom…the American Dream…Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Dream?

When you look at America today…do you see progress or a train running backwards down a hill… headed for certain destruction? Do you see hope for a brighter future? Or positive changes unraveling and being taken apart…taking a country back to savage beginnings it takes pride in clinging to?

How can we…honor the best of ourselves…by implementing that best into the fabric of a nation torn and tattered by division and despair? How can we ensure the promise of America, when days like today come…and remind us what living and living in America…and the world, is really all about?

Take today and remember…take today and what it really means to dream a dream of peace…unity…humanhood…community…liberty…freedom…and make it your reality to create a world that can continue to achieve and sustain the better part of humanity’s contributions in ensuring a future for generations…

I have a dream…

That we will wake up…create the dream…and live it….

He Would Weep…

Today was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day…

He Would Weep…

To have witnessed the insurrectionists, instigated and incited into a violent attack upon the Capitol…by a dictator masquerading as a “president”…aided and abetted in his four year reign of terror and destruction…by the GOP…the party pf Lincoln….

He Would Weep…

To have witnessed the continued assault and murder upon innocent, Black men and women…because the color of their skin renders them insignificant…still…into the 21st century…

He Would Weep…

To see the vision of his Dream of American Unity and Equality…engaging in embracing our humanity, our integrity and character and presenting to the world that we could honor and appreciate our diversity through a democracy that would represent, work and serve its citizens…go down in flames with a continued demonstration of white supremacy and white privilege that continues to be nurtured and pushed to the forefront of any progress in realization of his Dream…

He Would Weep…

He would point out and declare that any oppression under America’s democracy of any citizen or potential citizen goes against what America proclaims to be all about…

He would denounce the actions of domestic terrorists, insurrectionists, and seditionists inside and outside of our government…and demand accountability and swift justice under the laws of the land…to show that democracy outweighs personal gain, rebellion and vicious divides, especially from those on our home soil, posing as patriots…

He Would Weep…

Had he lived to be 91 years…he would deliver once again his “I Have A Dream” speech…and it would be amended to include bent knees…

With the strong encouragement of peaceful protests to further the liberation and equality of Black Americans…and continue to speak and protest that Black Lives Matter…

He would lead young Americans into the arena of activism to secure their future…and the future of their children to be born into a country where they can be assured of creating and living out their dreams without oppression…and apprehension because of their beautiful diversity…

He would never stop building on the dream…and neither must we…

We must continue to wield the sword of truth in the rebuilding…restructuring…and restoration in the foundation of America…laying waste to that which divides…and continues to divide…Racism.  The dream of America cannot be realized upon a foundation breeding hatred and division.

Accountability must be delivered upon those responsible in the continued division and attacks upon our country…to restore a strong democracy…by whatever is necessary… in the form of impeachment and expulsion…to the fullest extent of the law.

Only this will lead to unification…only this will cause us all to weep…

Tears of joy…in the realization…that the dream and promise of America, can find sure footing…in delivering a grand dream…delivered to a bleeding nation…in a March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom… those many years ago on August 28, 1963…

Let us live in a fragmented “Dream” no longer…

Let us proclaim this day that we will take up the task of reinforcing and delivering America…to her true destiny…

The “Dream which unifies…not divides…”

We are the architects…

We are…the Dream…

He Would Weep…

Because finally…

We get it….

Reignite The Dream…

Can we reignite the dream? Today was a celebration of the man who had a dream…Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

He was assassinated in his quest to realize a dream of equality for Americans of African descent by peacefully removing the manacles and chains of segregation and discrimination.

How many decades backward have we traveled with the present pachyderm infestation immobilizing our country?

We must Reignite The Dream…

Today, Martin Luther King, Jr. must become more than just a celebration and memorial dedicated to a third Monday in January… it must become a day of continued movement in the realization of his dream, and a new freedom march in reclaiming and rebuilding a country with a stronger foundation built on, and living the words of “Liberty and Justice for all.”

We must Reignite The Dream…

Martin Luther King Jr. stood for Equality…and he was a man of integrity…

Kellyanne Conway… Martin Luther King, Jr. would have stood up for Trump’s Impeachment… You didn’t know him at all…Read his “I Have A Dream” speech…the time for enlightenment is ever-present…

We will Reignite The Dream….

To those who have ears to hear and eyes to see…March On, Reignite The Dream!!!

Do You Have A Dream?

imagesCLOL4S7Q

Today, we honor a man who had a dream of peace for all…He saw a future where diversity was respected, honored and celebrated…where all people were created equal and treated as equals…where love was the glue that bound everyone and everything that was good, together.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

He honored his dream and vision by giving his life…

Do you have a dream? Is it selfless…is it universal…does it bring together humanity in a humbling of hearts and a passion for peace? Can your dream be realized in your lifetime? Do you have purpose? Are you willing to sacrifice, even give your life for your dream?

Imagine…if you lived inside a box with no hope of ever realizing and envisioning a world of love…peace…freedom…liberty…justice…for all.

Imagine…a world without hope…a world without compassion…a world without a clue…open your eyes, is this the world you imagined?

Martin had a dream…

I have a dream…

Do you have a dream?

Let us join in Martin’s dream…let us dream the dream of a nation and a world…at peace.

a day
